Fiberglass Boat Cleaner restores the original color quickly without hard rubbing or buffing and leaves a chemically clean surface to which Collinite waxes can bond perfectly. Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 works like a prewax cleaner to remove oily films, and other contaminants, and leave a clean slate. Wax bonds to this clean surface for a more effective, longer lasting finish.
Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 contains intense cleaning agents that lift and remove the white, chalky oxidation that occurs in the outermost gelcoat layer. Gelcoat is just like clear coat on a car in its ability to dry out and oxidize. Wax applied over an oxidized surface will just seal in the oxidization and do nothing for the overall appearance of the boat.
Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 removes the existing oxidation, which prevents it from spreading, and restores the original color and luster of the gelcoat fiberglass. Once you apply wax over the clean, bright finish, it will prevent future oxidation and maintain the shine.
For the best results, wash your boat and allow it to dry. Apply Collinite Fiberglass Boat Cleaner #920 using a polishing pad on your Porter Cable 7424 dual action polisher or on a Cyclo Orbital Polisher. Either machine will give you even coverage quickly. Once you’ve removed #920, switch to a finishing pad and apply Collinite Fiberglass Boat Wax #925. The wax will bond better and last longer when applied over a freshly cleaned surface.
